I'm Somebody Now!

My  Facebook was hacked!
Apparently I went to Scotland and got robbed. My Facebook said I needed money and you should send some.
But I really didn't go to Scotland, it's a scam.
You can send me money if you want, but it isn't necessary.
I un - hacked my FB account, so disregard anything related to this.

Oh, more importantly, I spilled soda in my keyboard last night. Alot of soda.
Now all my keys are sticky.

New York City Condos - A Dream Come True?

I day dream a lot. In fact, I daydream most of the time. While I'm busy at work or busy at home and when I am not at all busy, I daydream. My most favorite daydream is that I am a stunning fashionista living in a spectacular condo in the Big Apple and I have hit the big time!

In reality, I have only been to New York once. We spent the day and into the evening touring the sights and experiencing some of what the city has to offer. Since then I've been hooked on the idea of living the ultimate New York lifestyle. While hanging out in the city that day I noticed that real New York City condos are in the heart of  the real places that I daydream about. Neighborhoods all over Manhattan are chock filled with condos. Small, large, quirky, classic, you name it there's a condo in New York I can daydream about.

Today, I see myself wearing a vintage Chanel wool suit and a pair of suede pumps, with a black quilted handbag. Of course I have a stunning pair of gloves and a smart pillbox hat. I'm on my way to pick out some new china and flatware for a small, yet intimate dinner I'm planning in my superb new condo. Naturally I am the vision of loveliness. Shall I send you an invitation?

Blast from the Past...

This photo depicts my grandmother as a small child.
I was told this photograph was taken on January 22, 1895,
but I am unable to confirm that.
Anyway, I love their clothing and the background.

Pens, Envelopes and Trade Shows - Things of the Future...

Trade shows are a fact of my life. I go to a bunch of trade shows over the course of a year. There are two very cool things about the shows I attend: I get to got to shows for two different industries and the promotional pens I pick up. I love the promo pens and the product literature because after the show I refer to any literature I pick up, and the promo pen lingers and gets used. Sometimes for years.

I am also inclined to save personalized envelopes. Not the whole envelope mind you, but the part with the return address. I cut off the return address and tape it to a card in my card file. I do add this information to my electronic address book as well, but I like the idea of having addresses in a paper file. I've lost or broken so many electronic devices, I just don't count on them anymore.

The Trade Show News Network is a great place to find shows that cater to any industry. While trade shows can be tiring with all the walking and talking to reps from so many companies, they are a fabulous place for one to see and experience first hand, products of all kinds. One cannot do this electronically.

Some people think pens, paper, books, libraries and other physical, non electronic media are a thing of the past. I don't agree. As long as there are people with eyes and hands, the need for physical media will carry on.

Muffed Target #19...

RULES
Each Tuesday post a picture which is completely crazy, messed up, with nothing on etc, which normally you would immediately delete. It can be everything, like only shoes instead of the whole person, a blurred building or whatever you want. Then tell us the little story how it happened and what it should have been.
Take a quick trip over to see Thom and link up there.
Visit the other players and Viola! We have a successful meme!

I have no idea what happened here. Mike and Richard were standing on the platform, and I took their picture. I snapped three or four in a row and in each one something funky happened. Here you can see the guys on either side are blurry, but Mike in the middle is downright weird...In each successive picture, Mike comes into focus a little more, but he never quite looks like himself...

Your Guess?

"May I have 10,000 marbles please?"

If You Are Expecting, You Need To See This!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Two of my friends are expecting babies in the next couple of months. Both women are considering banking their babies cord blood. When I was talking to Jamie this morning she told me about www.Cryo-Cell.com. This science may be controversial to some, but I think banking cord blood is a good thing to consider.
My youngest kid is 24, and I don't think this sort of thing was available when I was having babies. Had it been, I would have considered it carefully. When I read about this, I learned that stem cells from umbilical cord blood can be used to treat a great many diseases. Treatments using stem cells have been used for a broad range of illnesses like non- Hodgkins Lymphoma,severe anemia and leukemia. Research is also being conducted to see if stem cells can be used to treat neurological or cardiac problems as well.
If you are expecting or you know someone who is, please share this information with them.  Ask them to check out the Cryo-Cell site and send them to  www.Cryo-Cell.net too. There they can fill out a form to receive more info and get a free belly bag! Cryo-cell has been accredited and is one of the world's most well established cord blood bank. With more than 200,000 satisfied clients, I think Cryo-cell is well worth looking into.

Equinox...

Spring is in the air. And the temperature is rising. The thermometer in my yard says 80 degrees, but its also in the direct sun. Sooooo, my guess is it's about 55 out there now... If it would only stay that way!

DIY sweater vest

Guest post written by Laura Popper

Now that I can finally knit, I'm kind of going crazy with it. I actually made a whole bunch of scarves for people for Christmas presents and everyone genuinely seemed to love them! So i thought that I would start on a new frontier and start knitting little things for my son. He's 5, so I think that it's a natural step up because whatever I make for him obviously won't be very big.
SO I went online with my Rural Internet to come up with some ways to use my new knitting skills and came up with the idea to make a sweater vest for my son.

I mean, if anyone can pull a sweater vest off, it's definitely a little kids because they're just so cute on them! IÕm making one out of a light blue color that just looks so good on him with his skin tone. Plus, thatÕs the color of my husbandÕs favorite sports team so I think that half of his small wardrobe already consists of that color.

Sunday Film Challenge...

Today, in the spirit of "What Makes Us Laugh?"
I offer the Sunday Film Challenge.

We start like this: I give you five facts about a film

1. the year the film was released
2. a character name, could be a major or minor character
3. a quote from the film, maybe an obscure quote
4. the studio that released the film
5. an actor in the film
From time to time, I may offer additional clues.

You must email your answer to tilden@tildentalks.com
The first person to answer correctly will win nothing!
But I will reveal the correct answer later in the day.

The clues for todays puzzle are:

1. 1985
2. Francis Buxton
3. "You don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me.
I'm a loner Dottie. A rebel."
4. Warner Bros. Pictures
5. Cassandra Peterson

Good luck! Look me up later this evening for the answer and the non-prizes!

New Carpet - Installed by Professionals...

Well, Shawn has ripped up the flooring in his room. He's considering his options regarding what to replace it with. I say laminate and Colleen suggested linoleum, but I think Shawn is partial to wall to wall. There's been wall to wall in that room since we moved in long ago.

I am so not into doing wall to wall. Kicking in carpet does not appeal to me in any way. Luckily, I can get someone else to do it for me. I'm going to look into Carpet Installation. Sears will install any type of flooring I desire, and I think they're pricing is decent too.

I'm not sure what Shawn is looking for in terms of carpet. I'm partial to something berber-like, but Shawn has been perusing plush types. Whatever he chooses, I' am so glad we can get a nicely trained professional to do the work for us. I'm pretty sure if we did this ourselves it would cost much more than it has to. And it would not come out right. It is a fact we do not possess the proper tools for such a job and we couldn't cut a straight line to save our lives!

TENS Units and Muscle Stimulators to Manage Pain....

I've been suffering from neck and lower back pain for quite some time. After an examination and an MRI, the doctor assures me that the bulging disk in my neck is minor. He also claims the degenerative disk disease in my lower back should respond to physical therapy. The neck pain I can keep to a minimum by not lifting anything too heavy and not carrying things on my hand like a waitress. The back pain does respond to physical therapy, but my insurance only covers that for a certain number of visits. After that, I'm on my own.

The physical therapist I went to used a couple different methods during my therapy. The first being a series of exercises and stretches. After that TENS Units. Both worked quite well. The therapist also suggested a Muscle Stimulator. But my therapy sessions ran out and I felt pretty good. I knew the exercises and the stretches. I felt like I could move on without more treatment.

Some time has passed, but not enough to get my insurance company to pay for more physical therapy. I'm looking into getting an LG-TEC Dual Combo TENS Unit and Muscle Stimulator of my own. This unit is safe, easy to use and priced right. These units are widely used in hospital and sports clinics, so I'm willing to use one at home to help with pain.

After I Visit LGMed Supply Online, I'm going to do my exercises and check out the online customer blog and then get on with my day. I think I've found a great way to manage pain and I'm looking forward to more pain free days and nights.

I Got a Monkey T-Shirt! Or Did I?

Not too long ago, Martin over at http://www.tshirtprinting.net/personalised-t-shirts/ said he would send me a tshirt. Since it was a free giveaway, I was psyched!
 T- shirts are my favorite!

Colleen and Manda generally collect the mail and if interesting looking packages come, they always open them up to investigate. This particular day, Colleen collected the mail and called me at church.

"You got Royal Mail." says she.
"No kiddin'?" says I. "Open it up!"
While I was hoping for an invitation to the wedding, complete with plane tickets and a hotel room, she reported that the package contained a t shirt.
"Hmmmm, a t shirt?" I ask.
"Yup." said Colleen. "It's a nice shirt with a cheeky looking monkey on it.
Can I have it?"
"Look further in to the package." I command her.
I hear some rustling and she tells me
"There's nothing else, should there be more?"

While I'm disappointed I received no wedding invitation, I'm quite pleased about the t shirt. I tell Colleen she may not have the shirt. She huffs a little, says bye-bye and puts the phone down.

After church, I go home. I've forgotten all about the t shirt. After taking the dog out and straightening up a little, I go in search of Colleen and Manda. I find them in their bedroom, each sitting at opposite ends of Colleen's bed, each holding what seems to be an article of clothing between them.

Colleen: "I saw it first."
Manda: "Tough luck. I called it!"
Colleen: "Give. It. Back. I HAD IT FIRST!"
Manda: "Let. Go. YOU'RE GOING TO TEAR IT!"
Colleen: "You stink! You always get your way!"
Manda: "If I always got my way, Mum and Dad would have sold YOU to the gypsies!"

After I saved the poor thing from the clutches of these silly girls, I take a look at it. It's the t shirt that Martin sent me, that came by way of Royal Mail, sans wedding invite. Despite travelling a fair distance and suffering a tug of war, I could tell this was a great shirt. Hey, it held up to a Colleen -Manda war, right?

A few hours pass and Manda calls to me from the other room.
"Mum, get your camera. I want you to take my picture."
