Straight Talk 2 - A Very Affordable Alternative...

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.
Straight Talk 2 offers everything you need in a cell phone plan at a price you can afford!
I was seriously considering giving up my cell phone because I just can't afford it anymore. With the fees and the roaming charges, I just cannot get the bill down to a manageable amount. Not only am I confused by my bill every month, but I'm paying for features I don't use, while I pay through the nose for features I really need! Cell phone carriers got you hook, line and sinker, but Straight Talk can end all that!
I'm so happy I discovered Straight Talk 2. I'm very impressed with the affordable plans and the benefits of no contract, no surprise charges and superior connectivity and reception. With my old carrier I've experienced some crummy reception and absolutely no connectivity in certain areas. And without a contract, I'll be free of being locked into a plan that really does not fit.  I'm going to save so much money with Straight Talk 2, I may be able to  actually visit my sister or revamp my wardrobe. I'm crazy to have locked myself into a contract when I can get everything I need without one using Straight Talk 2.

I've chosen the "All You Need" plan. This includes 1000 minutes, 1000 texts and 30 MB of data usage per month. With this plan I'll be free from activation or reactivation fees. And the best part is there are no early termination fees! Ever! I can also call 411 without any charges too. I can also get a very flexible International Long Distance plan. So I can call a friend or my mother or anyone I want for that matter. Straight Talk will hook you up.
Since Straight Talk only uses  established and trusted phone manufacturers, I feel confident I can choose a phone that fits my needs perfectly and works the way it should! Right now I'm using an ancient flip phone, but I can get a smart phone with voice navigation or Bluetooth with out having to mortgage my house!

1-800-Got-Junk?

I sure do! And it's got to go. We did a big cleanup here last year. We had one of those big containers delivered by our trash hauler. It cost a fortune and we weren't able to get rid of everything. Besides that, we had to move everything ourselves. It was not fun at all.

I still have an appliance and a whole bunch of junk from the garage and the cellar that needs to go. So I decided to check out other alternatives. When I searched the internet I found a place that does Appliance Removal Chicago. The 1-800-GOT-JUNK? dudes will come to your house, look over your stuff and give you a no obligation estimate right then and there. They schedule a 2 hour time slot for you and call a half hour or so before they arrive. That sounds very good to me, I dislike waiting around.

These junk removal professionals will also make sure your junk is recycled, donated or disposed of properly. The do construction and estate cleanouts, they'll take mattresses, fridges, furniture, leaves, rubbish, tires and scrap metal. But the ultimate selling point for me is that the 1-800-GOT JUNK? men will do all the work!

Small Cat...

Snapping Turtle on the Move...

A little while ago, I was in one of the greenhouses watering. As I was standing there in the broiling hot greenhouse, wishing it was cooler, I heard Karen cry out "WOW!"

I took this picture from the Wikipedia article
titled "Common snapping turtle"
On the dirt road that leads all around the greenhouses there was a rather large snapping turtle. The greenhouses are surrounded by water. Ponds, bog reservoirs, streams and canals are home to all manner of creatures. So a snapping turtle cruising through isn't really a surprise.

I decided to call the turtle Karen found Tuffy. Tuffy had a carapace about 12" across and looked to weigh around 25 pounds.Tuffy's carapace was very dark green and had a good amount of moss on it. She had a decidedly grim look on her face and did not seem to appreciate our delaying her movement by ooh-ing and ahh-ing over her. We stood well out of snapping range, fully aware a this type of turtle can reach across the carapace to their back legs on either side. I had no desire to have my finger amputated by the super powerful jaw of a snapping turtle. Tuffy's attitude was probably sour because her only defense mechanism is her excellent snapping capability. On land, a snapping turtle is at a slight disadvantage. The common snapping turtle cannot retract into their shells like other turtles. I think their bad attitudes on land reflect the knowledge that they can't move as swiftly or with as much precision as they can in water.

Karen and I agreed Tuffy had probably laid her eggs in a sandy area somewhere nearby and was heading back to the pond to resume her turtle tasks. I followed her tracks back a ways, interested in counting the eggs. I found the nest behind the row of greenhouses, in a very quiet and secluded spot. I was afraid to disturb it, but Karen said Tuffy would have put anywhere from 20-80 eggs in it before she covered it over with sand and went on her way. When Karen found Tuffy, she was quietly resting next to a puddle. When she tired of us, she lifted her self up, took a few sips from the puddle and carried herself back toward the pond.

Early this spring, Manda found spotted turtle cruising through our yard. She was probably on an egg laying mission too. I think she made a pit stop here to partake of some rabbit pellets or dung she found underneath our rabbit cages. That particular turtle had places to go and things to do and didn't stick around long either.

This is the spotted turtle Manda found in our yard.

The Muffed Target - #28...

Welcome to the The Muffed Target ! What best describes this meme?
SouthLakesMom at I Didn’t Know THAT! says: “We can parade our ineptitude and stroke our humility!” Quilly at Quintessentially Quilly says: “So, let’s all expose our photo flubs. Each Tuesday post a picture which is completely crazy, messed up, with nothing on etc, which normally you would immediately delete. It can be everything, like only shoes instead of the whole person, a blurred building or whatever you want. Then tell us the little story how it happened and what it should have been. Link back to Thom the Magnificent here and sign in with

Taking in all of the Disney parks scenery

Guest post written by Kelly Anderson

I think that one of the neatest parts of going to Walt Disney World theme parks is how everything is designed there. They literally just took all these themes and transformed this swamp land into these amazing places. I guess that it really takes a whole lot of imagination to come up with ideas like that and then find realistic ways to execute them in the Florida heat. I'm always amazed every time I got to the Disney parks when I think about all of the things that are probably involved with putting everything there together!

I was looking up some of the history behind the different things in the park before my upcoming trip in August and while I was doing that I ran across the site http://www.internetserviceboston.com/. After I looked through it a little bit, I decided to switch over my home internet service to it.

I found out that the typical Disney castle, Cinderella's castle in the Magic Kingdom, is really built as an optical illusion so that it looks a lot taller than it really is.

Breaking Bad - Season Four...

Last night I watched the season premier of the fourth season of Breaking Bad.

Without going into details, I'd must say Gus Fring is running true to form. He shocked me once again with his quiet way and his very direct manner of dealing with "problems." Gus can see very far into the future and he plans for all contingencies.

Skylar was as annoying as ever, still high and mighty and pissed off at Marie. Nobody ever really gets a break with Skylar.

Poor Gayle didn't get to drink his tea and possibly let something important fall into the wrong hands.

Jesse seemed to be his same old slacker self, but I expect some surprising things from him soon.

I don't think Hank is recovering very well, his new obsession doesn't seem like it will be the answer he seeks.

Walt made an assumption I'm not sure is accurate, but that remains to be seen. Not everything goes the way he thinks it will.

Tune in next week. We're in for a super ride.

Wesley Chapel Honda of Tampa - We're on Our Way!

We need to get another car before the fall. Everyone in the family will be going in different directions and its not feasible for four people to use three cars anymore. So while I was driving around today, I decided to check out Wesley Chapel Honda. My friend Kim has been driving a Honda for years and she swears by them. Honda of Tampa offers new and pre-owned vehicles and is a authorized Honda dealership.

I'm very interested in a Honda Civic. I like the size and they get great gas mileage. Despite the Civic's small size, I found Kim's to be roomy and comfortable. We go grocery shopping together often and we have no problem fitting a ton of stuff in her car. Big, bulky items like suitcases or large cartons pose no problem either. We generally get everything in with room to spare. Last week we loaded two Labrador retrievers and a German Shepherd in the car and took a ride to the dog park.Other than the drool, we had no problem.

Manda wants to check out the Honda Accord. She likes the four door sedan, and will be car pooling with two girls from school. Manda said the four door will be much more comfortable and easier to get people and heavy book bags in and out of the Accord sedan. Colleen likes the coupe, but admits the sporty look and styling gets her attention. I like the idea of an affordable, efficient car that everyone can drive. gas prices being what they are, mileage is a very important factor. Size, styling, comfort and durability all run a super close second.

Tomorrow we go out in search of our next car. We haven't decided on new or pre-owned yet, but pricing is always a factor. We decided not to bring the dogs for the test drive. I think the salesman will be pleased we left them at home.

Blue Sky Scrubs - Comfortable and Stylish...

Amanda has settled in at her job at the hospital and she's found a fabulous resource for her work clothes, http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/.She's shopped all around this area and gone as far as Hanover looking but not finding anything she really likes. A while back she met a woman who suggested Blue Sky. Manda said she was so glad to have run into that lady because her search for comfortable, properly fitting scrubs has ended.

I was just looking through the site, considering buying scrubs online, for myself. The scrub pants Manda wear look really comfortable and I like the way they wash and dry. The don't seem to stain or fade easily and I love all the different colors offered. I like the idea of them as pajama pants. I'm not sure how they would go over as work pants where I work but I'm willing to give it a try!

I noticed the other day that Manda had a lovely lanyard  for her ID badges made of very pretty beads. She was also wearing earrings that matched. She said she found them at Blue Sky too!
