2010 April PAD No.1

In honor of National Poetry month, here's a challenge from
Poetic Asides with Robert Lee Brewer.
Write a poem a day for the month of April.
Daily prompts are provided.
You can find the guidelines here.
Today's prompt is to write a lonely poem,
one that gives a feeling of loneliness.
Here is my entry...

school

they look
but they don’t speak
they watch without seeing
i see the sneers
and hear the quiet comments
i look away and try not to listen

in the end
no one will ever know
what I have in here
they don’t ask
and I won’t tell

all the looks
and sneers
made me lock the door
its locked so tight
the key won’t fit

and i can’t find my way out anymore
