My New Friend Mac...

I have had it with my laptop. I've had nothing but problems with it since I bought it. Even with really expensive anti-virus software, I'm still plagued with viruses. The silly thing runs as slow as molasses in January, and has since about a week after I got it. The battery will not hold a charge for longer than 45 minutes. I've never, ever been able to connect to a wireless network, anywhere. Lately, it's only purpose is being a really large paperweight.

My friend Dave runs a Mac, and he told me to ditch my laptop and go with a Mac. He let me borrow an older MacBook, and gave me a new battery for it. He is convinced I will be very happy with it.

Dave was so right. I am happy with the MacBook. I haven't had a virus, and the new battery holds a charge. I think it runs a little slow, so I'm going to upgrade the memory. To my surprise, I learned that Apple actually provides instructions on how to do the upgrade myself!

I've been using the Mac for about a month. I'm not so sure I want to give it back. Dave said I could keep it for as long as I need it, his employer gave him a brand new one. I'm considering doing away with my really large paperweight. I thought I might try something new with it, but I just don't think a square frisbee would fly very well.

  1. I want to go to a Mac so bad I can't see straight. If nothing else for the graphics. But I will say that having used a PC since day 1 it's hard to teach and old dog new tricks. :)

  3. I am fluent in both Mac and PC, however, getting fluent in Mac was a bit stressful and you have to know that Amoeba doesn't like answering the same question 7-8 times.
