At town meeting the other night, increasing the budget for our schools was voted down. Many teaching positions were cut. As voters , we try to fund the most basic things first: emergency services and education. With the economy as bad as it is, we weren't able to give the schools the money they need. But there is hope.
Lunchables is sponsoring a contest: Field Trips For All. According to a 2009 report from the American Association of School Administrators, more than half of our nations schools will be eliminating field trips. It's a sad state of affairs when a kid can't get hands on experience to enhance their classroom experience. So, the Lunchables team created a new initiative called Project Potential. Anyone 6 years or older can nominate a deserving classroom by going to www.lunchables.com/potential/ and submitting a nomination. 50 schools will be selected to go on a great educational adventure, like the one shown in the video.
Enter someone you think would benefit from this contest and spread the word. This is a chance to help kids who might not otherwise have the benefit of such experiences.
